Yesterday was the presentation of the Fall/Winter 13-14 Menswear Collection of Kenzo at Pitti Uomo in Florence and the least we can say is that Carol Lim and Humberto Léon, the special guests for this year, have once again succeeded in delivering a flamboyant show full of soft colours, clouds and Hokuzai-inspired prints. This time, the designers tried to depart from their previous collections that were more POP! more FUN! more WOW! by playing on sharper and more graphic cuts and, on paler, colder and less "aggressive" tones but every single piece is, none the less, so eye-catching and addictive. As usual, they managed to make us want all these gorgeous clothes, from the pale blue coats to the cloudy backpacks, from the tiger head printed trousers and tops to these broad shoulders sweaters. Every single piece is so desirable! And last but not least, we have to mention the work on shadows and trompe l'oeil created by the light effects on the clothes. Thus, during the show, we were almost under the impression that the models missed some parts of their arms creating a super powerful effect of volume. With this collection, the über creative duet have brought Kenzo in another dimension, a more mature one. The teenage debut are behind them and now, they've grown up and are facing the future with more self confidence than ever!
