Forget about the soporific Isabel Marant x H&M Collab! The collaboration of November will definitely be for us (and especially for Charles an ardent supporter) Swatch x Mika. For its 30th birthday, the well-known Swiss brand has chosen the British Pop singer (who has also turned 30 this year) to design two watches. When we heard about this news a few weeks ago, we only imagined colours, colours, more colours and a design close to the covers of his albums. The least we can say is that we are not disappointed at all! Here, the watches (Mika designed with his sister Yasmine) are represented as totemic objects and remind us of some kind of African masks. As he explained when presenting these two designs: "These watches are meant to inspire curiosity and respect. [...] We wanted to give them an almost mystical dimension". It's quite a great vision of what is a watch for us. We love watches and especially Swatch and, in a way we worship Swatch watches. As far as we are concerned, they should be taken as full fashion accessories. Art for your wrists!

Swatch has always been really good at finding people to collaborate with and if we had to take only one example it's Jeremy Scott that directly comes to our minds! In 2010 and 2011, the King of Collab inspired his eccentricity and madness with Swatch and it gave several incredible watches reworking Scott's successfull designs: the wings, the leopard-print or his effigy. This collaboration has been our favourite so far and we can only wish for a third row even though it seems quite utopian.
This idea of collaborating with such great talents as designers, artists or singers is not new for Swatch and among the most famous or mythical, we can remember some that are integral parts of the Swatch History:
Swatch x Kiki Picasso (only 140 copies!)
Swatch x Keith Haring
Swatch x Vivienne Westwood
Swatch x David LaChapelle
The Mika x Swatch collaboration will be out in stores next week! Stay tuned on W.A.R.M. for a future Look of the Day featuring this "precious"!
