Two of my biggest emotions during the latest Womenswear Fashion Week in Autumn were Prada and Céline. Two brands that, at first sight, do not have much in common. Prada is about opulence, expressionism while the French maison is more about minimalism and boldness. Yet, their latest collections were both full of colours, of prints, of brainwaves making them completely brilliant. This is what I call THE EMOTION OF FASHION. I was not expecting these collections at all! Well, of course, we all know that Miuccia Prada and Phoebe Philo love to go where they are not expected but at this point, it was just genius!
I love being surprised by Fashion. Aren't we all? I am fed up with all these collections that are just repetitions of what have been made before. Fed up with these shows where you already know what is gonna happen, what you are about to see. I don't know about you but I have a few names in mind when it comes to unsurprisingly collections. Want some names? Send me an email! Today, I don't feel like being a sharp tongue. Today, I want joy, happiness, smiles and good vibes (no, no I am not applying for Miss Fashion 2014!).
While I was thinking about this article, I went through We Are Ready Made archives (when you are approaching the 450 articles I think you can use the word archives! Moreover, it gives a professional and serious tone I love!), looking for pop-related photographs and I came accross Waiting For The Sun one of the first posts featuring Looks of the Day. Funny how this "shooting" slipped out of my mind and at the moment when I watched it again, lots of memories reemerged. The selection of the clothes (our wardrobes were not as stocked as they are today), the installation of this large orange piece of fabric, our desire to offer our readers something cool retranscribing our craving for sunnier and hotter days, our love of bold and strong colours and above all, our first faltering steps as fashion bloggers, my lack of self confidence in front of the camera (and perhaps it is still the case...). Once again, this Emotion only Fashion can give us.

People may think fashion is superficial, not important, secondary compared to the troubles shaking our world. Of course, it is secondary but Fashion is what we love (among so many other things!) and is everything but superficial as far as we are concerned. I definitely love this feeling when I am watching a fashion show: every new silhouette can be the last one and secretly, I hope it will go on and on. I can remember the first time Yann wore his Kenzo Tiger-Embroidered Sweater I bought him as a birthday present. I can remember his smile when we went out of the Kenzo store, Place des Victoires. This smile I would not forget it even for billions of dollars. So many memories thanks to this Power of Fashion. Our first looks of the day in London or Berlin. The day Cara Delevingne retweeted us. The day when we saw in 5 minutes of time Olivier Rousteing and Riccardo Tisci. The feeling we had just seen rockstars. The people we've met thanks to our blog. All these memories are so precious to me, to us. And all these memories are here now (and forever) because one day, we decided to start a blog, to write about what moves us, what thrills us, so it is your right to think that Fashion is secondary and not important but please, never consider Fashion as something superficial because just like nature, movies, music, art or literature (to name a few things that can give you emotions) it can make you feel so alive!
