As I was watching some Paris Fashion Week streetlooks, I came across a picture of an über Fashionista with stiletto heels from another galaxy and holding under her arm a stuffed shark bag by Ashley Williams a.k.a Happy Ashley. I already knew this British designer but it is always a special emotion to see her creations making their way down to the streets. Well, this street is not the ordinary people's street, this is not my little neighbourhood street where it's always an event to meet trendy people and where when we come out (with clothes for a Look of the Day or just because we wanna be clad differently) people are not always looking in a caring and admiring way... So, if I had to come out in the street with a stuffed shark, a stuffed clownfish or a stuffed manta ray under my arm to buy some croissants, I can't even imagine the reactions! But, I am not here to write about the tiny and tight French mentality. This is not the place and I don't want to scare you... I am here to talk about childhood, this period when there was absolutely no problem with walking in the street with a toy or a teddy bear. This time when playing and being carefree were our only concerns.
Season after season, fashion attempts to restore this state either it is thanks to Fendi and his furry bugs (some kind of Furby but without the noise) you can clip on your bag or his amazing Peekaboo bags with eyes (the price is also amazing...). Either it is with Jean Charles de Castelbajac whose imagery, poetry and imagination often look to childhood memories or thanks to Bobby Abley who turned his love for Disney into his trademark. Lord knows his clothes are completely appealling either you are a Prince Charming or an Evil Queen!

So here at W.A.R.M., sometimes we also feel like falling back into childhood. Sometimes, we just want to free our minds, to be unconcerned and happy-go-lucky, to wear clothes or accessories reminding us of this blessed era. Clothes and accessories that will make us say:" Ok time is flying away, we are growing up (better than getting older...) but we have kept this tiny little piece of childhood and lightness that many people, too grey, too dull, too rusted by life have lost, forgotten, shelved". So sad... We are not suffering from the Peter Pan syndrom, don't be mistaken. We just feel like trying to make our life a little bit less boring so we are adding colours, childlike prints and characters in connection with memories or we are wearing clothes that bring back to a certain kind of emotion, something anchored deep into our hearts and minds. So, sometimes, when we feel special, we are wearing crazy tee shirts, incredible sneakers (perhaps, an unconscious envy to watch Denver, the last dinosaur again...), lego sweaters or cartoonish bags. It is not much, it won't certainly change the face of the world but it is soothing, comforting. It makes our lives less ordinary, less monochrome and it is already a lot!
