Ximon Lee's Children of Leningrasky have deeply broken my heart, clearly the kind of clothes I want to wear. These radical and brutal garments are to be revisited in a capsule collection with H&M as Ximon won the 2016 design Award. Imagine my state of mind when I heard the news. Charles was talking about the nomination of Demna Gvasalia as the new creative director of Balenciaga, considering it to be one of the viral moments of 2015. I'm not over-exaggerated saying this collab is my number 1 news of 2015. I'm very excited because it's the first menswear collab with H&M even if the pieces are embodying a gender-less attitude. Ximon's signature is all-over this collection, featuring his oversized, futuristic and street aesthetics. Here, this is a genuine collab in a sense that both H&M and Ximon are working together trying to re-edit his bonded fabrics and structured silhouettes that made him famous. To build his oversized shapes, Ximon is using a layer of foam that sits between two layers of denim fabric to create a denim jacket and a pair of wide shorts. The collection also features a cotton printed top in oversize denim rib and a pair of structured trousers. Jersey leggings to layer under the wide shorts to go hand in hand with an all-over jacquard knit to stay warm in the winter that is coming. The collection is launching the 22nd of October in some selected stores and of course, could be shopped online. I've not decided yet which pieces I'm going to buy but I know that some of these beauties will accidentally be hung in my closet! I can't help it! Don't you know that collabs are my guilty pleasures and sometimes they are better than the originals!
