About a year ago, we were invited to visit the Void Showroom during Paris Fashion Week and to meet talented young designers from all over the world. This is how we met Keta Gutmane and her team. And this is how we fell in love with her monochrome, masculine-inspired, tailored creations. Ever since Yann has had the secret wish (not that secret tbh) to own one of her pieces and in particular these wide trousers, having a 90s vibe (with the rough hems); a perfect blend of Japanese cotton & flannel. This dream came true. Hope you'll enjoy this outfit as much we enjoyed doing it!

If you haven't read the article we dedicated to the Latvian designer, here is the link

Stay tuned, another article about Keta Gutmane and her AW16 collection is coming soon on We Are Ready Made

This is literally the most daring & hottest brand of the moment. Everybody wants a piece of Vetements. The whole world is obsessed with it; from anonymous people waiting outside concept stores when clothes are released to pop stars like Rihanna who can't stop being photographed in their clothes. Let's admit it, we are all obsessed by the big poplin shirts, the badass hoodies with exaggerated sleeves, the tour merch-like goodies with goth logos, the oversize macs and bombers... and the list of their desirable must-haves is still long! Demna Gvasalia, one of the persons behind Vetements (and perhaps the most famous one along with stylist Lotta Volkova) said once that he wanted to lower the prices of his "artisanal" sweaters and all the other objects of desire over a longer or shorter period of time. But is it really the case? Because any piece from the Vetements collections will cost you an arm and a leg (even two arms and two legs)! Can we really trust him? This goose & its golden eggs are way too productive & vivid! We are not Rihanna we cannot afford to invest in any of these pieces even though we're dying to wear them!

The good thing when it comes to the "conceptual" Parisian brand is the idea of re-appropriation & re-interpretation; meaning staples of an everyday life wardrobe turned into a universal standard of coolness! No need to squander your savings here, you just have to find a good old thrift store and then you, somehow, get the Vetements look. Of course, there will be no Vetements tags on them but you'll get the vibes if you use a bit of your imagination! Don't worry too much you can also wait for your favorite high street store (ZARA the luxury houses' "bête noire") around the corner to translate the Vetements not so foreign language! I don't know a single person who could resist here as you simply do not have to invest! Ok, that's not very sustainable but it offers a certain value in terms of quality & price.

For his Spring Summer 2017 collection, Demna Gvasalia has introduced this idea of a know-how luxury by collaborating with brands having a higher level of expertise. Having in mind that a designer stays relevant as long as he is copied, I think the designer doesn't mind and doesn't care about these high street re-interpretations. Nowadays, everyone is copying everyone! What really matters is how you stay relevant by being on everyone's lips and how you keep on going forward by producing desire & most of all by arousing it! No matter if it's high street or high fashion, this is the same old thing for everyone!

Here is my re-interpretation of the Vetements touch with the help of pieces I recently purchased at Zara.

I love getting dressed for occasion because I love challenging myself finding the perfect outfit to somehow match a particular moment. By doing this I'm trying to find excuses to buy more clothes while my wardrobe is literally in a terrible state, meaning there's not enough room and it's probably going to explode or to collapse one day!
Before going to Stockholm I was looking for the perfect airport outfit! Honestly I am not ashamed to talk about that because I am that kind of freak with that kind of obsessions! The Walter Van Beirendonck X Ikea fabrics I bought were the perfect start to create the best pyjama look ever! I designed the trousers from a basic pattern I found on the internet. And for the matching shirt I updated the pattern to come up with a kind of boxy short jacket with big elongated sleeves and giant cuffs. This whole outfit was made in three days right before our trip to Stockholm! I was very proud of myself because all the work I had done in such a short period of time and also because it was the first time I cut fabric to create a jacket and trousers! Unfortunately I couldn't wear the total look to the airport because of the heat as the fabric is definitely made for upholstery! But it doesn't matter! It is the perfect airport look ever! Wearing a proper suit to take the plane may not mean anything to some of you to but I don't care! You cannot imagine the pleasure when I realized I could create this pyjama on my own!
