Nature can be found everywhere in Stockholm. No need to go very far to get lost in the wild life. Langholmen peninsula is the best spot to take a break from the city; not far from the Södermaln area, you just have to cross a bridge and then you are in heaven. But if you are looking for places that are not crowded, quiet places (Stockholm is full of them), if you want to have an encounter with "the Islands", with wildlife, just take a day to wander very far, embark on a boat going to one of the numerous islands (around 30 000 islands!!) around the Swedish capital as if you were on cruise. Vaxholm Island is one of them, one hour and a half from Stockholm, this is a place where you automatically feel like home. Definitely a super chill place to go! Charles & I spent the day there, walking its peaceful streets, going to the most picture-perfect little beach, bathing in the purest sea, enjoying the moment, trying to stop time because we didn't want to leave, dreaming of a life there bringing our family with us. Vaxholm has the same unexplained power of attraction as all the places we discovered during our trip to Stockholm. Not only the places are charming but the Swedens are too. There are not many places on earth that can make you feel like home. Stockholm and its surroundings are definitely one of them!
