Rei Kawakubo's collections are always celebrations. Celebrations of death, life, youth, separation, heroes or of punk culture. For the Spring Summer 2018 collection of Comme des Garçons Homme Plus, the message was clear: optimism. This was the celebration of party boys, from the catwalk to the dance floor in a way, an invitation to party hard in the salle Wagram, a place filled with emotions, with history as often with the designer & founder of Comme des Garçons. A place that means something where huge ceremonies, parties under Napoleon III were held. This is not at all a pretentious idea but instead it is a genuine will of bringing back the fashion show on the catwalk. Be less serious, less cerebral and just enjoy this F***ing moment; celebrate, dance as if you still were in the 90's. This collection is an expression of freedom translated into a wardrobe; a classic Comme tailoring  meeting riots of  prints/colors/textures, odd patchworks, a chaotic mix of prints (flowers, leopard, glitter, faux fur, tie & dye), an upside down tailoring with apparent lining. The clothes are definitely embodying this optimism, this freedom of expression, of creation.  Perhaps Rei Kawakubo has just revived the vibrant spirit of the Manchester raves? Her message can literally be associated with the state of our world: remain positive no matter what is happening out there, carry on & live your life, express yourself, be bold, take life as a huge party, enjoy it preciously, just cherish it. You could see/feel this message through the garments, with the boys embodying their roles, dancing on the catwalk, smiling in these beautiful clothes! After all these years, Rei still knows how to surprise us and contrary to many "lazy" designers for this SS18 season, she is still going forward and keeps on building a unique & completely fascinating storytelling!

The other day, I was saying to Charles that we were living in the best part of Paris. Le 18ème is now our Home sweet sweet Home now! We're feeling so lucky to live in the area we were dreaming of! That's why we decided to shoot this outfit just a stone's throw away from our flat.
I have to confess I'm not really the kind of guy who loves going out on Sunday, having a stroll in the neighborhood for instance. Before moving to Paris, my typical Sundays were a kind of Netflix & Chill but now I am a brand new man! Going for a walk on a beautiful Sunday afternoon is now a habit; exploring, getting lost, feeling kind of wild and taking an unknown street just for the joy of discovering! Who know we might find a secret & mysterious place?
For this brand new outfit, I was wearing a pale blue cropped Monki shirt I had bought recently, layered with a pair of wide shorts from Stockholm designer Ann Sofie Back because of the heat. The Acne sneakers-socks are so cool, so light, they are really made for one of these long Sunday strolls in Paris!

We were expecting much from this Paris Menswear collections for Spring Summer 2018. Maybe too much? So many designers played it safe, surfing the normcore/streetwear vibes again and again and again and again. Others decided to feature kids, families in a forest to arouse our interest. But we needed more! So much more than weirder than weird trousers/bermuda shorts/shorts or kitscher than kitsch Hawaian shirts. Fortunately, some other excited us like Comme des Garçons or Kenzo (even though some outfits were really really "astonishing") and some others made us smile and gave us an incredible desire to wear what they had created. These particular ones are featured right here in this #PFW Best Of. These are our 5 favorite collections!

Between the crazy, young, effervescent London Fashion Week and the radical, edgy, electrifying Paris one, there are the Milan collections. The Milano case is a tricky one; a lot of the brands showing their collections are, let's be honest, boring, tacky (Hello Philip Plein!), repetitive (Hello Dolce & Gabbana) but fortunately, there are also exciting ones, promising ones, some giving us some chills and of course, there is Prada! Prada is fascinating and never disappoints us. You might find it quite unsurprising but yes, once again, it is our favorite collection from this Spring Summer 2018 cuvée though Marni was in pole position.
Here are, according to us, the 5 collections to remember from this SS18 Milan Fashion Week. Enjoy!
